Harrison REMC also offers a budget billing program to help members avoid seasonal swings in billing amounts. There is no additional charge to use the budget billing program. Members can choose from the two options:
- Average budget billing your monthly payment is based on a rolling average of the last 12 months of electric bills, not just the current month’s use. Each new bill is added to the average and the oldest month drops off, so the amount may flucuate month to month.
- Fixed budget billing this allows the members to pay the same amount for 12 months. On the 12th month, the account is billed or credited for the accumulated budget balance difference that has developed over the 12-month period. The fixed amount is based on the electric account’s use for the previous 12 months. Each year, the account is reviewed and reonciled to make sure payments match your actual energy use.
