Cost of ServiceOnce an application is made for a mobile home, house or other livable dwelling, a cost estimate is figured for the cost of building the electric service. Subtracted from this amount is the estimated usage for a 30-month period. The remaining balance is then billed to the member for payment before construction begins. With the combination of minimum bill contract for 30 months, and the preconstruction deposited amount, the REMC insures itself that after 30 months the amount invested in the new service will be recovered. This policy is in line with the Indiana Regulatory Commission Rule #25. All mobile homes will require a contract and possibly a deposit. Members requesting electrical service to an outbuilding or other non-livable structure will be required to pay the total cost of labor & material to build the service in addition to signing a 30-month contract in the amount of the current facility rate. |
