ScholarshipsEach year Harrison REMC awards several $1000 scholarships to local students who choose to stay in the area and attend Indiana University Southeast to continue their education. Students can download the 2009 Scholarship Application. (If you have Adobe Reader installed, you can use your computer to complete the application. Then just print it off and submit it with a one page essay to your guidance counselor.) Scholarships are awarded each spring, at a luncheon hosted by Harrison REMC, to graduating seniors who live with a parent or guardian that is an REMC member. Awards are based on academic achievement. _______________________________________________________________
_______________________________________________________________ 2009 REMC Scholarship WinnersBrittany Wagner- Corydon Central High School, is the daughter of Anthony and Angela Wagner. Drake Potts-Borden High School, is the son of Amy and Gregory Potts. Evan Stumler-a home school student, is the son on Chris and Tracey Stumler. Jamie Snyder-South Central High School, is the daughter of Mark and Ava Snyder. Madison Snodgrass-North Harrison High School, is the daughter of Rick and Teresa Snodgrass. Paul Stiller-Providence High School, is the son of Alan and Patricia Stiller. Sara Schmelz-Lanesville High School, is the daughter of Daniel and Robin Schmelz Shelby Garber-Floyd Central High School, is the daughter of Ken and Jude Garber. 2009 Manager’s Scholarship WinnerThe Managers’ Association of Indiana’s Rural Electric Membership Cooperatives announce the presentation of ten scholarships through the Managers’ Association Scholarship Program. The $500 scholarships are awarded annually to students whose families are employed by Indiana electric cooperatives. Two of this year’s winners are from Harrison REMC. Lauren Smith, a graduate of North Harrison High School was one of the recipients. She is the daughter of Greg and Julie Smith. Greg is a lineman at Harrison REMC. The other recipient is Lauren Burch. Lauren will be a sophomore at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Kevin and Alisa Burch. Kevin is the operations manager at Harrison REMC. |
